In a stellar display of dexterity and determination, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been crowned the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for February 2024, an accolade to honour his extraordinary contributions to India’s triumph over England in the ICC World Test Championship.
The 22 year old, scoring two successive double centuries against the English, gave him the title of being the highest run scorer in the Ind vs Eng Test series, leaving afficionados in awe and admiration.
A Month of Milestones
The Indian Test Opener’s journey to this prestigious accolade began in gusto as he scored a stunning double-century at Visakhapatnam in the second Test. His innings of 209 set the stage for the coming glories!
Jaiswal, on a spree, had a magnificent unbeaten score of 214 in the third Test at Rajkot. Living up to the record of hitting the most sixes in a test match, his innings led India to be crowned victors.
In the fourth Test at Ranchi, Yashasvi again proved his mettle with a fantastic fifty, sealing a series win for the country. These sparkling performances pushed him up the rankings to be the No. 1 ICC Men’s Test Batsman.

Jaiswal, beaming with pride, gratitude and ecstasy, expressed to the media of feeling elated to win this ICC award. ‘I hope that there will be more in the future. It’s my first five-match series, and it’s been an incredible experience with all my mates’, said the 22 year old cricketer from UP.
He remarked that his performance was an expression of a lot of hard work and dedication. The young talent now joins the company of cricket legends Sir Donald Bradman and Vinod Kambli for scoring consecutive double centuries.
Indian Players Shine in ICC Rankings!
Player of the Test Match, Ravindra Jadeja’s century in the first innings propelled him from 41st to 34th position among batters. His seven-wicket haul in the match shoved him three spots above in the bowling rankings.
Captain Rohit Sharma also made strides, climbing to the 12th position after his century in the first innings.
Shubman Gill’s impressive performance earned him a three-position rise to 35th place, narrowly missing out on a century in the second innings.
Annabel Sutherland : ICC Women’s Player of the Month
While on the other hand, Australian All-Rounder, Annabel Sutherland, has cinched the premier spot on the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for February.
Her dazzling performance in the Test match against South Africa highlighted her prowess with the bat and the ball alike.
Sutherland’s stellar innings of 210 pushed Australia to a commanding position in the match.
Apart from that, Sutherland demonstrated her skills in bowling with the figure of 3/19 in the first innings and 2/11 in the second. Her abilities with the ball restricted the South Africans and promised Australia’s triumph.
