Robin Zaccheus shared this video on Friday, on X (Twitter) along with posting the bill of the chocolate he had bought. Zaccheus had purchased the 45 rupees chocolate from Ratnadeep Retail store at Ameerpet metro station in the city.
The post by the disgruntled man read ‘Found a worm crawling in Cadbury chocolate purchased in Ratnadeep Metro Ameerpet today.’ He further went on to demand if there exist a quality check for products nearing their expiry date and brashly asked who is responsible for public health hazards.
Cadbury’s Reply

Cadbury was quick to respond to the complaint and seeked for more details from Mr Zaccheus. In their post, they reinforced the ethical ideals of Mondelez India Foods Private Limited (formerly Cadbury India Ltd) in providing their customers the highest quality. The company expressed its ‘regret’ for the unpleasant experience and attached their contact information for addressing the concerns and asking for more details about the incident.
This issue raises scrutiny about “quality checks” on expiry products and concerns on the reputed company’s goodwill.

X users, actively indulged in the matter and commented their opinions. Some of them suggested to ‘raise a grievance to the Cadbury team.’ and ask them to further investigate the matter.

Many even beseeched Robin to sue Cadbury and demand compensation and a lot of them insightfully remarked to always check the product and expiry date prior to consuming it.
“Looks like this chocolate didn’t had double wrapping. The reason why dairy milk is double wrapped (golden foil + white paper wrap) is to avoid worms get inside,” thoughtfully posted one user, highlighting the need for a well product packaging.
One more user went on to surmise that all the units from that specific production batch would have a worm in it and that they should legally fight the company.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation wrote on X, giving its opinions in a post that said “The Concerned Food Safety team @AFCGHMC have been alerted on this issue and the same will be resolved at the earliest,”.
