Carlos Alcaraz, 21-year-old Spaniard overcame Sinner with scores of 2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, becoming the youngest man to reach Grand Slam finals on three different surfaces.
Carlos Alcaraz previously won the U.S. Open in 2022 on hard courts and Wimbledon in 2023 on grass. Now, he will compete for the title on the red clay of Roland Garros.
In Sunday’s final, the third-seeded Carlos Alcaraz will compete against either fourth-seeded Alexander Zverev or seventh-seeded Casper Ruud.
Throughout his semifinal match, Carlos Alcaraz consistently fell behind but managed to turn things around each time.
Despite dealing with physical issues that required several visits from a trainer, he overcame a break and a set deficit when Sinner led 2-0 in the second set
Then the second-seeded Sinner went up two sets to one. But Alcaraz never wavered, often using drop shots, sometimes to win points outright, sometimes to set up curling lobs, sometimes to pave the way for slick passing shots, and his big forehand to eventually take control.

“At the start Jannik played unbelievably and you couldn’t find your rhythm. Once you found your rhythm you played very well.. the 3rd set was weird for everyone. You were both struggling..”

Despite his loss in the semifinals on Friday, Sinner’s impressive record of 13-0 in Grand Slam play in 2024, which includes winning the Australian Open in January, solidifies his status.
He’s set to ascend to the No. 1 spot in the ATP rankings for the first time next week, showcasing his dominance in the tennis world.
