Uttarakhand Gurudwara Kar Sewa Pramukh Baba Tarsem Singh was shot dead around 6 in the morning in the gurdwara Dera in the town Udham Singh Nagar.
On 28th March, police received information between 6:15 and 6:30 am informing them about the killing of Baba Tarsem Singh. Police DG informed that two masked assailants on a motorcycle entered the Namakmatta Gurudwara Dera and shot Baba Tarsem Singh. He was immediately rushed to the hospital in Khatima. The Kar seva Pramukh was declared dead on arrival at the hospital due to injuries succumbed after the attack.
Uttarakhand Director General of Police Abhinav Kumar announced the formation of an SIT comprising officials from STF and local police to investigate the murder of Kar Seva Pramukh Baba Tarsem Singh, Namakmatta Gurudwara in town Udham Singh Nagar.
The administration has started the investigation with senior officials reaching the spot. The Senior Superintendent of Police Manjunath TC was on the spot assessing the matter. DIG Kumaon will also reach the spot and talk to the locals as informed by Abhinav Kumar, DG Uttarakhand.
The headquarters have formed the SIT under the leadership of DSP RB Chamola and have been asked to keep this matter a top priority. The SIT will ensure to probe all the angles of the matter minutely. The authorities must identify the assailants and check the probability of this matter being a conspiracy not just a murder.
SDM Khatima Ravindra Singh has spoken to ANI regarding this incident and ensured that the police will follow all necessary ways to catch the miscreants. He said that the police will finish the panchayat Nama and then the process of postmortem and final cremation will follow.
The police have deployed additional forces in the area to ensure no disruption to public order. DG Abhinav Kumar has also appealed to the Sikh community in the Namakmatta area to ensure peace.
