Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of an All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the Rewari district of Haryana on Friday, February 16. The AIIMS-Rewari will be built at a cost of about Rs 1,650 crore on 203 acres of land in Majra Mustil Bhalkhi village.
The AIIMS-Rewari will feature a 720-bed hospital complex, a 100-seat medical college, a 60-seat nursing college, a 30-bed AYUSH block, residential housing for faculty and staff, post-graduate and undergraduate student hostels, a night shelter, a guesthouse, and more.
AIIMS Rewari, an All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), is being built in Rewari, Haryana, to strengthen public health infrastructure. The 203-acre facility will offer comprehensive, quality, and holistic tertiary care health services in 18 Specialities and 17 Super Specialities. Established under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, AIIMS Rewari will provide Intensive Care Units, Emergency & Trauma Units, Modular Operation Theatres, Diagnostic Laboratories, Blood Bank, and a Pharmacy.
AIIMS Rewari opens up after delays
The AIIMS hospital located in Rewari is the 22nd project of its kind that the Union government is establishing nationwide. The project would cost ₹1,231 crore to build and take up 210 acres of land.
AIIMS Rewari project, initially proposed to be built in Manethi village in Rewari, faced challenges due to land being found under a forest area.
The Gurugram MP, Singh, reported that the tender for the project was allotted in December last year, and work is expected to be completed within two years.
The project was facilitated by the people of Majra, who offered their land for the hospital project, ensuring the successful completion of the AIIMS Rewari project.

On February 16, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also dedicated the Majra Balkhi hamlet in Rewari as the site of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital.
