Reports indicate that the spiritual guru had been experiencing severe headaches for the past four weeks. Despite the pain, he continued with his normal daily activities and even conducted the Maha Shivaratri function on March 8.
However, his condition deteriorated by March 15, prompting him to consult Dr. Vinit Suri, a senior consultant neurologist at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital. He deduced of a probable subdural haematoma.
Following Dr. Suri’s recommendation, he underwent a brain MRI, which revealed significant bleeding in the skull, indicating a subdural hematoma.

“There was evidence of a chronic bleed of three to four weeks duration as well as fresh bleeding that had occurred within a duration of 24 to 48 hours,” said the statement.
The severity of his condition became evident on March 17 when he experienced a decline in consciousness and weakness in his left leg.
He was immediately admitted to the hospital, where a CT scan revealed a marked increase in brain swelling, necessitating emergency surgery.
