The consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22 will be attended by BJP icon L K Advani, who spearheaded the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation, VHP president Alok Kumar said on Thursday. Whether party veteran Murli Manohar Joshi would attend the function or not is still up in the air.
“Advani ji has promised to arrive. If needed, we would make special provisions for him,” Kumar told PTI.
“He has said that he will try to come to the event,” Kumar remarked about Joshi.
VHP to host LK Advani at the consecration ceremony
LK Advani, a BJP veteran, was invited to the Ram Temple Pran Pratishtha ceremony by RSS leader Krishna Gopal and BJP veteran Ram Lal, who visited Advani and extended their support.
The BJP has extended invitations to saints from all traditions for the Pran Pratistha ceremony on January 22, but Congress has declined the invitation for Lord Ram Lalla’s ceremony, with Congress’ senior leaders, Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, declining the invitation.
LK Advani; the force behind the Ram Temple agitation
The 96-year-old LK Advani was an important figure in starting the Ram Janambhoomi campaign, hence it was noteworthy that he attended the Ram Mandir “Pran Partistha” event.
During his attendance, LK Advani will get all required medical care and accommodations, according to Alok Kumar, the International Working President of the VHP, who addressed the matter of Advani’s participation in Ayodhya.
