The firm CBRE, Dwarka Expressway will change the Delhi–Gurugram corridor
The Dwarka Expressway, a northern ring road developed as part of the Gurgaon Manesar Urban Complex Development Plan 2031, offers additional connectivity between Gurgaon and Delhi. As an alternative to the existing NH 8, the Dwarka Expressway has been in high demand due to the rapid increase in traffic between Delhi and Gurgaon. In 2006, the Haryana Urban Development Authority planned an 18-kilometer stretch between Kherki Dhaula and Najafgarh Road as an alternative to NH-48.
The Dwarka Expressway, initially known as the Northern Peripheral Road, was a significant project in the early 2010s, attracting real estate ventures. However, the construction of critical sections at Kherki Dhaula and Bajghera was halted due to legal disputes. In 2017, the project was transferred to a central agency for extension.
Anshuman Magazine, Chairman & CEO of CBRE, has highlighted the Dwarka Expressway as a key factor in enhancing connectivity within the Delhi-Gurugram region. The expressway is expected to redefine the real estate landscape in the area, with residential development booming in sectors bridging Gurugram and Delhi. The project’s strategic location, cutting through key residential and commercial hubs, promises to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce travel times between the two cities.
