In a private ceremony by the sea, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman married Oliver Mulherin, his longtime friend and partner. The 38-year-old computer entrepreneur’s $43 million estate is located close to the ceremony’s alleged location in Hawaii.
Pictured from Altman’s wedding, which appeared to be attended by barely a dozen or so people, started making the rounds on social media on Thursday. The pair is pictured among palm palms during the ceremony.
The Free Press Journal reported that Altman and Mulherin announced their wedding via an Instagram post. In the caption of the photo, Mulherin announced the news, writing, “married my best friend and love of my life.”
About Altman’s wedding
A dozen or so guests and the couple were flanked by palm trees in the widely shared photos from the wedding ceremony. It shows Altman placing a ring on Mulherin’s finger, with Jack, the former’s brother, performing the ceremony.
Altman and Mulherin were dressed in clean white shirts at the flower-decorated event.
For a considerable amount of time, Altman, 38, maintained a secretive relationship with Mulherin, an Australian software engineer.
According to the New York Times, the couple divided their time between a ranch in Napa, California, and San Francisco.

Who is Oliver Mulherinm, Altmans’ Spouse?
Mulherin, who works as a software engineer, graduated from the University of Melbourne with a degree in computer science (2014-2016).
He worked as a software engineer for Meta, from August 2020 to November 2022as per his LinkedIn page. He also worked for Broadwing, SPARK Neuro and IOTA Foundation as a software developer.
Additionally, back in Australia, he oversaw a number of AI projects ranging from video games to language detection.
Despite being married to one of the most powerful people in Silicon Valley, Mulherin keeps a modest profile. He has less than 600 followers on Instagram.
Mulherin and Altman live together in a Russian Hill home in San Francisco that the CEO of OpenAI paid an astounding $27 million for, according to another New York Times story.
