Adding to the buzz, journalist Emily Chang joined the conversation by conducting an interview with this AI-generated version of Hoffman. As expected, the video quickly gained viral attention, sparking diverse reactions from viewers, including a response from Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma.
Sharing the interview video on X, Chang expressed her excitement about the unique career milestone: “Today marks a career milestone for me, I had my first chat with a deepfake, or should I say, Reid Hoffman’s digital twin. What do you think?!”

Since being posted a few hours ago on Friday, the update has garnered over 6,400 views and nearly 50 likes, with numerous retweets. It’s been argued that Reid Hoffman decided to create his “digital twin” as part of an experiment to explore the capabilities of AI technology.
Despite initially feeling hesitant about the idea, the LinkedIn co-founder was intrigued by the potential of a digital twin and wanted to understand its positive applications. He acknowledged that this technology might unsettle some people but emphasised the importance of being mindful and proactive in shaping the future as such powerful technologies emerge.
