What is sadder than Children of war? No homes, orphaned, dead under rubbles of destruction. The modern man has achieved so many accomplishments in the fields of science and technology but humanity is lacking far behind. A war of regions that asked for immediate ceasefire, is killing hundreds each day. Vengeances of humanity, not more not less.
On October 7, Hamas attacked Israel killing 1400 people and taking over 200 Israel hostages. In retaliation Israel waged a war against the Gazan territory. With strikes coming from all sides there is a no place to go situation left for the people of Gaza.
At the US congress hearing, a line of protesters raised red-stained hands in the air as an anti-war protest. Capitol police later removed them from the hearing room after they shouted protests including, “Ceasefire now!” and “Protect the children of Gaza!”
Israel Hamas War
- As the war count enters Day 27, no resolution or ceasefire is seen nearby. According to advocacy organization Save The Children, more children died in Gaza in October 2023 than in all of the world’s combat zones combined in 2022.
- The UN claims that Israel’s shelling of the Jabalia refugee camp may have resulted in “disproportionate attacks that could amount to war crimes,” with Gaza officials reporting 195 killed and 120 missing.
- For the first time, US President Joe Biden has stated that the US favors a humanitarian halt.
- The head of the Palestinian organization Hamas declared on Wednesday that Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip under siege were facing the same “death and destruction” as Palestinians.
- Lives threatened, due to fuel shortages, the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital, the sole hospital in Gaza treating cancer patients, had to close. The Indonesian hospital is powered by a backup generator running low on fuel.
- With water output at 5% of normal levels, UNICEF spokesperson James Elder issued a warning about the possibility of newborn deaths from dehydration.
According to him, there are about 940 children in Gaza who are reported missing, others are believed to be trapped beneath the rubble.
- The commander of Hamas’ anti-tank missile unit, Muhammad A’sar, was killed when Israel’s fighter jets attacked a Hamas command-and-control complex in Jabalia “based on precise intelligence,” according to a statement released by the IDF later.
- Israel PM faces backlash. “Netanyahu is set to depart. similar to high ranking military, intelligence, and GSS (intelligence service) officers. because they were unsuccessful,” an editorial published last week in the daily Israel Hayom stated.
- The latest in a string of warnings from Iran, which supports Hamas in Gaza, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian warned on Wednesday of “harsh consequences” if strikes on the Gaza Strip continue.
- After about 335 foreigners departed the strip yesterday, the Rafah border gate between Gaza and Egypt is anticipated to open again today.
- A list of 596 foreign nationals and dual citizens who will be permitted to exit through the Rafah crossing on Thursday has been made public by the Gaza Borders and Crossings Authority.
- As they increase their ground operations in the area, Israel’s military forces have acknowledged carrying out operations that struck more than 600 militant locations in recent days.
- On Friday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to Israel and Jordan. This will be his second visit to the area since Hamas initiated the war on October 7. In addition to reiterating American backing for Israel, Blinken seeks to guarantee that help for the Palestinians in Gaza is delivered.
- According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, more than 22,000 people have been injured and over 8,800 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have died in the conflict.
