Hamas Hideout?
Hamas denies the US claims to have evidence to support Israel’s long-standing accusations that Hamas has a command center under Al-Shifa Hospital.
Early on Wednesday, Israeli soldiers raided the biggest hospital in Gaza, forcing Hamas to surrender while hundreds of patients—including infants—were left stranded there with almost out of supplies and no electricity. As part of its ground attack against Hamas, the Israeli army surrounded Al Shifa Hospital, alleging the militant organization hides military activities within the hospital complex.
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu issued a warning, saying that the army would leave “no place in Gaza” and that there is no safe haven for the Hamas fighters responsible for the October 7 attacks. “They told us we wouldn’t reach the outskirts of Gaza City and we did, they told us we wouldn’t enter Al Shifa hospital and we did.”
Martin Griffiths, the UN’s humanitarian chief, expressed his “appallment” and stated that “hospitals are not battlegrounds.” The World Health Organization, which had lost communication with patients and personnel, declared itself to be “extremely worried” in the meantime.
"#Israel’s military incursion into Al-Shifa hospital in #Gaza City is totally unacceptable.
Hospitals are not battlegrounds.
We are extremely worried for the safety of staff and patients. Protecting them is paramount.
WHO has lost contact with health workers at Al-Shifa.
But…

Al- Shifa Scenario
According to a journalist with the BBC News agency, there was no firing going on and Israeli military had “complete control” of the facility. He claimed that throughout the night, six tanks and roughly one hundred commandos broke into the complex, with soldiers inside the main emergency department yelling, “don’t move!”
IDF soldiers urged all men between 16 and 40 years old to leave the hospital buildings (except from the emergency and surgical rooms) and walk to the hospital courtyard via loudspeakers.
Accompanied by medics and Arabic speaking individuals, Israeli forces proceeded to interrogate both personnel and patients, going from room to room and floor by floor.
Gaza Parliament Seized
As its forces intensified their offensive in the Palestinian region, the Israeli Army announced on Tuesday that it had taken control of Gaza’s Parliament and other Hamas-run government institutions in Gaza City. As per the Army’s announcement, military personnel seized control of the Hamas Parliament, government building, police headquarters, and engineering faculty, which functioned as an establishment for the production and research of firearms.
A Humanitarian Dilemma
On Tuesday, doctors couldn’t help a patient with burns and were forced to “let him die” after they ran out of equipment, including ventilators.
Patients were “screaming in pain” after the required surgeries that were performed without the appropriate anesthesia. On Wednesday, no surgeries could be performed.
In the meantime, six premature newborns had passed away recently, and Dr. Mokhallalati expressed his concern that more might die from their lack of oxygen and energy.
Dr. Mokhallalati asked, “Why can’t they be evacuated?” regarding the babies. “In Afghanistan they evacuated the cats and dogs.” “Where is the ICRC [Red Cross]?” “Where are the British and American governments? Is everyone just waiting for us all to die here and then say we were ‘good people’?”
Palestinians claim Israeli forces opened fire on them and that it is too risky to transfer patients who are too weak, despite Israel’s earlier claims that it was prepared to let employees and patients evacuate.
Witnesses have reported horrendous circumstances within the hospital, including families living in the hallways with inadequate access to food or water and a stench of decaying corpses.
