Asaduddin Owaisi has asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Lok Sabha elections manifesto did not refer to “minorities.” He pointed out that the party opted for the term “marginalized communities” instead.
Owaisi stated that in the BJP’s advertisement, they highlighted ST and OBC, yet notably omitted mention of minorities, suggesting a reluctance to use the letter “M” due to what he described as a “strong aversion” to the term.
He asserted that Dalits and Muslims experience the highest rates of school dropouts, contending that the BJP deliberately contributes to the escalation of dropout rates within the Muslim community.
Highlighting the country’s elevated unemployment levels, fueled by a dearth of job opportunities and escalating hostility towards minorities, Owaisi urged voters to prioritize these concerns before casting their ballots for any political party.
Owaisi asks to focus on per capita income
Owaisi noted that while the BJP may boast about propelling the nation to become the third-largest economy globally, it’s essential to scrutinize per capita income as a measure of true growth.
“I observed the BJP’s advertisement on April 17 across various newspapers. Noticeably, when discussing government assistance for loans or business startups, the advertisement explicitly mentions ST and OBC communities. It’s striking that the BJP avoids any reference to minorities, let alone Muslims. The term ‘minorities’ is enshrined in the Constitution of India, yet the BJP seems to harbour a strong disdain for it,” Owaisi conveyed to PTI videos on Wednesday.
“They conspicuously omit any mention of minorities. Instead, they pledge scholarships for marginalized communities,” he further remarked.
In its election manifesto, the BJP commits to the enactment of the Citizenship Amendment Act and the Uniform Civil Code.
The BJP reiterated its commitment to implement ‘One Nation, One Election’. Asaduddin Owaisi, who voiced opposition to the CAA and UCC in Uttarakhand, highlighted the disproportionately high dropout rates among Dalit and Muslim communities. He accused the BJP of deliberately exacerbating the dropout rates within the Muslim community.
Owaisi urged voters to consider the soaring unemployment rates, escalating animosity towards minorities, and threats to the Constitution before casting their votes. Meanwhile, he affirmed that AIMIM’s alliance with Anupriya Patel’s Apna Dal (K) would persist even in the upcoming Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior BJP figures unveiled the Lok Sabha election manifesto, dubbed ‘Sankalp Patra’, on Sunday. The manifesto pledged to establish new IITs, IIMs, and AIIMS institutions, alongside a commitment to enhance infrastructure.
