The USB-C charging case for Apple’s second-generation AirPods Pro is now available for standalone purchase. According to an announcement made by Apple, customers can now purchase the USB-C case separately.
The cost of the MagSafe-compatible case is presently $99, or around Rs 9,990. For those who have been considering moving their devices to the USB-C ecosystem, now may be the time.
The USB-C AirPods Pro cases should be accessible before Christmas, according to reports. When Apple unveiled its iPhone 15 lineup earlier this year, the Cupertino tech giant swapped out the Lightning port for a USB-C one, leading to the release of the USB-C AirPods Pro.
The USB-C AirPods Pro Features
The new AirPods Pro can withstand water splashes and are resistant to dust. When paired with the upcoming Apple Vision Pro headset, the USB-C AirPods Pro provide wireless lossless audio as well.
However, the USB-C solo case is now only available in the US and that its availability in India may take some time, probably by next month.
Since its launch, Apple has been using the lightning port. The EU made USB-C charging mandatory, citing environmental concerns. It’s a multipurpose connector that most devices now come with as standard.
There are still some benefits that the USB-C AirPods Pro, which were introduced earlier this year, have over the Lightning version. Like the earphones, the solo case has an IP54 rating.
The most recent ANC-capable TWS from Apple is the AirPods Pro 2, which features an upgraded H2 processor, improved Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode, and support for customized spatial audio. In addition, you receive touch controls, wireless charging, playing for up to 30 hours, and the U1 chip for UWB functions.
Although it is available for purchase now, the website states that distribution will begin on January 6, 2024, and end on January 18, 2024. At this time, Apple Saket does not offer the pickup option. It also has an EMI option, with a beginning monthly payment of Rs 1,723 upwards.
Refurbished AirPods USB-C Pro 2 With Lightning Case
Ist December marked the debut of Apple’s refurbished second-generation AirPods Pro in the United States, with a price tag of $209, which is lower than the $249 list price when they were first released. Additionally, beginning last month, they have become accessible in a few European nations as well as Canada.
Originally announced in November 2022, they are the second generation AirPods Pro with a Lightning/MagSafe charging case. In September 2023, Apple made a few further adjustments to the second-generation AirPods Pro, including adding a USB-C/MagSafe charging case. These updates were not offered through Apple’s reconditioned store though.
According to Apple, every one of its reconditioned goods is “put through a thorough cleaning process and inspection” in addition to “full functionality testing.”
It’s noted that third-party resellers frequently provide better prices. Although they are currently $237.99, brand-new second-generation AirPods Pro with a USB-C charging case were previously available on Amazon for $189.99 in the United States.
Earlier this year, Apple started offering refurbished third-generation AirPods for sale.
Airpods are a wireless version of the Apple’s EarPods, which come with iPhones and iPods. Their Apple W1 processors optimize energy consumption and manage the Bluetooth 4.2 connection. A Lightning connector on the underside of the charging case is used to receive electricity.
The AirPods 2nd Generation, also known as AirPods 2, have the same exterior design as the original model, but they are equipped with more powerful Apple H1 processors, which enable faster device connections, reduced latency, 50% longer talk times, and “Hey Siri” capability.
Available with a new wireless charging case that supports Qi technology and is backwards compatible with the first model. It can be identified by a small LED indication on the front.
AirPods Pro (2nd generation) features an Apple H2 chip that can cancel up to twice as much noise as the original AirPods Pro and was introduced in September 2022.
