Apple recently concluded its 38 minute long ‘Let Loose’ event, with a remarkable display of new innovative products such as Apple iPad Pro, Pencil Pro and exciting updates in its Apple iPad Air.
Here’s all you need to know about the new products and updates:
Apple iPad Pro 2024
The latest announced iPad Pro 2024 comes in two sizes: an 11-inch model and a slightly larger 13 inch version, which replaces the 12.9 inch model from 2022. Both iPads boast an incredibly slim profile, making them the thinnest Apple products ever even thinner than the iPod Nano.
Both new iPad Pro models now sport OLED display panels, known as ‘Ultra Retina XDR’. This upgrade not only enhances contrast levels significantly but also contributes to the devices sleeker design.

The tablets boast 1000 nits of brightness and a peak brightness of 1600 nits, along with XDR support. This translates to deeper blacks, vibrant colours, and the brightest display yet. Additionally, the iPad Pro 2024 models feature a new nano-texture glass that reduces glare by scattering light.
In terms of performance, the 2024 iPad Pro models leapfrog from the M3 to the new 3nm M4 chipset, making it the first device to utilise this chip. The M4 chip packs 4 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores, along with a 10-core GPU that supports ray tracing for advanced gaming graphics. Furthermore, the new iPad Pro 2024 variants incorporate graphite and copper for a 30% improvement in thermal performance.
New AI efficient M4 Chip
Apple claims that the new M4 chip is incredibly efficient, delivering the power of the M2 chip while consuming only half the power, which should result in improved battery life for users.
Additionally, the M4 chip boasts an enhanced NPU (Neural Processing Unit) that supports a staggering 38 trillion operations per second, enabling better on-device AI applications, an aspect that will become more prominent with the release of iPadOS 18 later this year.
The new iPad Pro models sport a 12MP main camera, with the LiDAR scanner remaining part of the setup. An upgraded TrueTone flash adapts for improved document scanning. The front camera has been relocated to the landscape edge, accompanied by a new Face ID implementation.

Apple introduced a new accessory alongside the tablets, the Apple Pencil Pro. This comes equipped with a built-in gyroscope and a new sensor, enabling innovative gestures like a squeeze gesture to bring up an on screen menu. Additionally, the Apple Pencil Pro now supports Find My integration, allowing users to locate it if it goes missing.
A new barrel roll gesture allows artists to roll the pencil sideways to achieve different outputs with the same brushes, mimicking the versatility of a real paintbrush. With ProCreate Dreams, Apple Pencil Pro users can also trace animations using the barrel roll feature.
The Apple Pencil Pro is compatible with iPad Pro models as well as the iPad Air models.
