A couple days ago, AAP’s sole woman MP Swati Maliwal had made headlines for filing an alleged assault complaint in Delhi Police by CM Arvind Kejriwal’s aide- Bibhav Kumar.
The Delhi Police recorded her complaints where she accused Bibhav Kumar of repeatedly slapping her 7-8 times and kicking in the chest, stomach and pelvic area at CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence.
On Friday, the Delhi Police took Maliwal to Arvind Kejriwal’s residence to recreate the crime scene. Her statement was also recorded before a magistrate at the Tis Hazari court.
In return, Bibhav Kumar has filed a counter-complaint with the Civil Lines police station, alleging that Maliwal had “forcefully and unauthorisedly” entered the chief minister’s residence. He also claimed that the former Delhi Commission for Women chairperson tried to “create a ruckus and assault” him.
AAP Supports to alleged accused
The Aam Aadmi Party has lent out a firm support to Kejriwal’s aide, claiming that Swati Maliwal’s assault is fabricated and rather made under the influence of BJP. The alleged assault is intended to ravage Kejriwal’s party image in the media at the behest of BJP.
On Saturday, the Delhi minister Atishi contended that Swati Maliwal has filed an FIR using an old ABC case under BJP’s coercion.

“Anti Corruption Bureau of the BJP has filed a case against Swati Maliwal regarding the illegal recruitment of contractual employees in DCW. A chargesheet has been filed and the time of conviction is coming, we believe that Swati Maliwal is being included in the conspiracy by using this case. How the entire machinery of BJP, from MHA to Delhi Police is working, was seen yesterday in Tis Hazari Court,” said Atishi in a press conference.
Meanwhile, AAP has released CCTV footage from the Delhi CM’s house where she can be seen exiting the house without a limp and is surrounded by security personnels. In another video dated May 17, Swati had started limping. Puzzled by the strange turn of events, the party called her out for her double play and questioned “what is this game?”
Bibhav Kumar arrested
Currently, Bibhav Kumar has been arrested by the Delhi Police after Swati Maliwal’s FIR on Thursday. He was picked up from the CM residence around noon today and taken into custody for interrogation. His lawyer has not been connected to him, yet.
“We have not received any information from the police, despite sending an email to the authorities assuring full cooperation,” the lawyer said.
