In the Dumka rape case, the Jharkhand High Court ordered the police to submit a response on Monday. “Incidents of crime of any kind against a foreign national may have serious national and international repercussions, including impacting the tourism economy of the country,” the High Court stated. The incident occurred in Kurumahat of Hansdiha police station area, with seven people involved. The woman and her husband were on a mega trip around Asia, arriving in India on a tourist visa. The couple had previously visited Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal.
Spanish woman victimized by gang sexual assault

The incident is expected to bring adverse publicity against the country. Dumka Deputy Commissioner Anjaneyulu Dodde handed over a cheque of ₹10 lakh to the victim of a Spanish gang rape in Jharkhand. The police have identified four other accused and are awaiting arrest. The Spanish couple were assaulted and robbed of ₹10,000. The opposition BJP staged a protest march in Ranchi, condemning the incident and blaming the government for deteriorating law and order in the State.
The gang rape has tarnished the image of the State globally, and a hunt is underway to trace the other accused. The Dumka incident, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has tarnished India’s global reputation, according to Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth. The incident has been compared to a gang-raped orchestra artiste in Palamu district, with all accused arrested and remanded. Meanwhile, another woman in Patna was raped by a man in Garhwa district, who had promised to return the owed money.
Jharkhand: 3 people are in jail for the rape of Spanish ladies
A court on Sunday placed three people under judicial custody who had been detained about the gang rape of a Spanish tourist in Jharkhand’s Dumka district. The Spanish woman was spending the night in a tent with her husband when she was reportedly gang-raped on Friday in Kurumahat in the Hansdiha police station area, around 300 kilometers from Ranchi, the state capital, according to police. They added that her statement was recorded by Section 164 of the CrPC.
Superintendent of Police Pitamber Singh Kherwar said during a news conference that the victim had a medical test that verified the rape. He stated that three of the seven persons thought to have been engaged in the crime had already been put to jail, and the remaining four would shortly be apprehended. “Searches are in on for the other four accused, who have been named. They’re going to be caught shortly,” he remarked. According to Kherwar, the police have communication with the Spanish Embassy located in New Delhi.
“They are being kept informed about the developments,” he stated. The SP said, “Legal procedures are underway,” when asked when the couple planned to leave Jharkhand.
