Rolls Royce launched its first all-electric super luxury sports coupe Spectre on Tuesday in Chennai, at a starting price of ₹7.5 crores (ex-showroom) for the Indian market.
A car that is priced so high makes it the most expensive EV car to buy in India. The car had already been unveiled 5 days prior (i.e. 19th January) in New Delhi.
Vasanthi Bhupati, Dealer Principal, Rolls Royce Motor Cars Chennai, said with the announcement of Spectre, the British luxury car manufacturer would commit to electric technology, and by the end of 2030 would turn its entire portfolio fully electric.
A senior official from the brand said “There is a strong interest and demand for Spectre worldwide with an order bank stretching through 2024. The deliveries in India will begin by CY25. In CY24, about 20% of our overall production would be electric,” (Rolls-Royce unveils first ultra-luxury e-super coupe.
Specifications of Rolls Royce Spectre
The Rolls Royce Spectre is powered by a 102kWh Lithium ION battery giving out 576 bhp of power and 900 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 4.5 secs (Claimed) and has a range of 530 km WTPL on a single charge. The sports coupe stands at a 1573 mm height, is 5475 mm long and 2017mm wide giving ample amount of space for 4 people to sit comfortably and enjoy the ride. The car has a kerb weight of 2890 kg.

The sports coupe has a strong resemblance with the Rolls Royce Wraith but stands out for itself with a broader and illuminated front grille. The Spirit of Ecstasy (or The Flying Lady) receives a redesign and is strategically placed to enhance the aerodynamics of the coupe. The 4-seater electric coupe sits on 23-inch Wing spoke alloy wheels with the signature “RR” wheel hubs.

Spectre being a Rolls Royce product comes with the starlight liner offered on the roof, which now is included on the door pads, setting it apart from its existing Rolls Royce models. The cabin feels luxurious with its well-crafted stitching and embroidery. The major change comes with its software platform. Rolls Royce had previously been using infotainment software developed by BMW, but now has integrated its new software the “Spirit”. The new software helps to control the overall functions and use the services, the coupe possesses.
