On Tuesday morning, passengers on an Indigo flight from Delhi to Varanasi were evacuated at Delhi airport following a bomb threat. The evacuation took place via emergency exits, and the passengers were moved to an isolation bay in accordance with safety guidelines.
IndiGo Flight 6E2211 received a bomb threat at 5:35
IndiGo released a statement saying, “Flight 6E2211 from Delhi to Varanasi received a bomb threat at 5:35 am. Adhering to all necessary protocols, the aircraft was moved to a remote bay under the supervision of airport security.
Passengers were safely evacuated through the emergency exits. The flight is currently undergoing a thorough inspection. After all security checks are completed, it will be brought back to the terminal.”
Delhi police reported finding a note in the IndiGo flight‘s lavatory with the message “Bomb@5.30” written on it. However, after a thorough search, nothing suspicious was discovered.
The Delhi fire service quickly dispatched its Quick Response Team (QRT) upon hearing about the bomb threat. Airport authorities confirmed that all passengers were safe.
The QRT, along with aviation security and the bomb disposal squad, conducted a detailed combing operation at the airport to ensure safety.
